lunch spot

Our lunch stop overlooks a valley and slopes covered by stands of Douglas fir and redwood trees.

Hoover tower in the distance

Through the trees we catch a glimpse of Hoover Tower, on the Stanford University Campus.

a buckeye tree

This native buckeye tree is full of buds ready to open.

SF in the distance

At another bend in the trail we can see San Francisco, the Bay Bridge, and Mt. Tamalpais clearly, to the north.

What a great day for a hike – the winds made the visibility almost perfect.
