In mid-November we made our first trip to Alcatraz with our friends Nancy and Barry, who were visiting from New York, and two of their children. By mid-day the weather was cooperating, and we were able to take in the unique views from San Francisco Bay.

We visited Google and Shoreline Park where the kayaks proved irresistible.
Our return to California in November enabled us to enjoy a second colorful Autumn. A recent hike took us through some of the equestrian and walking pathways of Los Altos hills, where the micro-vineyards are turning colors, perennials and vines are still in full bloom, and garden decor is flourishing.
